Why brass and True Color

Neutral color, smooth threads.

True Color polarizing film for the picture, a brass frame for the lens.

True Color, no warm cast

Many polarizers push skies and skin tones warm or yellow. NiSi True Color polarizing film keeps the scene neutral, so the color you shoot is the color you saw.

Turn it to cut the glare

Rotate the filter to pull non-metallic reflections off water, glass, foliage and wet rocks. Skies deepen and clouds gain contrast.

Precision-milled brass

An ultra-thin brass frame finished in matte black. Brass threads more smoothly than aluminum and is far less prone to binding on your lens.

Knurled for grip

Deep knurling on the frame edges gives cold, wet or gloved fingers something to hold when you mount and remove the filter.

A knob that comes off

Thread the knurled knob in for fingertip control of the polarization angle. Unscrew it for a low profile, or when you stack filters.

Questions

Before you buy.

Which size do I need?

The size of your lens filter thread. Look for the diameter symbol on the front of the lens or inside the lens cap, followed by a number in millimeters. The brass frame CPL comes in 40.5, 43, 46, 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82, 86, 95 and 105mm.

What does True Color mean on a polarizer?

Many circular polarizers add a warm or yellow cast that shifts skies and skin tones. NiSi True Color polarizing material is made to keep color neutral and accurate, so images need less correction afterwards.

What will a CPL remove?

Reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces: water, glass, foliage, painted surfaces and wet rocks. Rotate the filter to set how much. It also deepens skies, gives clouds more contrast and reduces atmospheric haze.

Why a brass frame?

Brass threads more smoothly than aluminum and is far less prone to binding on lens threads, even after years of use. The frame is ultra-thin, precision-milled and finished in matte black, with knurled edges for grip.

What is the knob for?

The small knurled knob threads into the rotating ring for fast fingertip control of the polarization angle. When you want a streamlined profile, or need to stack other filters, it unscrews and stows away.

How do I keep it clean?

Both sides of the glass carry NiSi Pro Nano anti-reflection coating, which repels water and oil and resists fingerprints and dust, so the filter wipes down easily.
