Hasselblad glass deserves a filter that does not get in its way. The NC UV for
Hasselblad pairs lens-grade optical glass with NiSi's latest ULRC coating and a
solid brass frame, so your front element is protected while the file stays as
sharp, contrasty and color-neutral as your lens and sensor were built to deliver.

Features of the NC UV for Hasselblad
A protective filter earns its place on a Hasselblad only if it costs nothing.
The NC UV for Hasselblad is built around that test: lens-grade optical glass,
NiSi's latest Ultra Low Reflection Coating, and a production technique aimed at
surface flatness and parallelism, so the filter takes the handling, the rain and
the fingerprints instead of your front element.
01
Engineered for Hasselblad
Shooting Hasselblad means chasing the highest image quality, and at that level every optical flaw shows. This filter adds front-element protection and haze reduction without compromising resolution or contrast, so you can think about the picture instead of the gear.
02
Lens-Grade Optical Glass
The glass is selected for chemical stability, high light transmittance and neutral color rendition. Those three together are what let a filter sit in front of a Hasselblad lens without leaving a signature on the file.
03
Up to 99.9% Light Transmittance
NiSi's latest Ultra Low Reflection Coating reaches up to 99.9% light transmittance, minimizing reflections, flare and light loss. In backlight or beside a strong light source, any flare the filter itself adds is barely there.
04
Ready for 100+ MP Sensors
A new production technique improves surface flatness and parallelism, so the filter preserves the resolving power your camera and lens were engineered to deliver rather than quietly eroding it, right across the frame.
05
Blocks UV Light and Cuts Haze
Blocking ultraviolet light below 395nm reduces the atmospheric haze that builds over distance. Contrast improves and far subjects render cleaner, and it does that without shifting color or costing you light.
06
Repels Water and Oil
Both surfaces carry a double-sided, 48-layer water and oil repellent nano coating. Rain and sea spray bead up, dust and fingerprints wipe away in seconds, and the filter absorbs the weather and handling that would otherwise reach your lens.
07
Solid Brass Frame
Brass threads on smoothly and resists the warping and jamming that catches out lighter frames in the cold or after a knock. The knurled edge gives you grip in the wet or with cold hands, and the frame is marked for the system it was built for.
08
Fits Your Original Lens Cap
The frame is machined so your Hasselblad lens cap still seats securely over the filter, with no gaps. No spare cap to carry, and nothing that works itself loose in the bag.
Which size fits my lens? 72mm, 77mm and 86mm
Every current Hasselblad X System lens, and the NC UV that fits it. All three
sizes are the same glass, the same ULRC coating and the same solid brass frame,
so the only thing to get right is the front filter thread.
Threads are taken from Hasselblad's published lens data. If your lens is not
listed, read the thread size off the front of the barrel and match it to the
filter of the same size: any lens with a matching front thread will take the
filter, Hasselblad or otherwise. Every NiSi round UV filter is in
Round UV Filters.
Same scene, same exposure, one frame shot through the NC UV. They are meant to
look identical: that is what you are buying. Click either frame to open it full
size and look for yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which size do I need?
Match the front filter thread of your lens. 72mm covers the XCD 25V, 28P, 38V, 55V, 75P and 90V. 77mm covers the XCD 21, 20-35E, 30, 35-75, 80, 120 Macro and 135. 86mm covers the XCD 35-100E. The full lookup is in the table above.
Will a UV filter soften my 100 megapixel files?
That is exactly what this filter is built not to do. It uses lens-grade optical glass and a production technique aimed at surface flatness and parallelism, so resolution and contrast are preserved across the frame. The filter-on and filter-off frames above are unedited.
Does it change color?
No. The glass is chosen for neutral color rendition and the ULRC coating reaches up to 99.9% light transmittance, so there is no color cast and no meaningful light loss.
Does my original Hasselblad lens cap still fit?
Yes. The frame is machined so the original cap seats securely over the filter with no gaps, and it stays put in transport.
Why a brass frame rather than aluminum?
Brass threads on more smoothly and resists the warping and jamming that can seize a lighter frame in the cold or after a knock. It also holds the paint-filled markings cleanly, so the type and size stay readable.
Can I leave it on all the time?
Yes, and that is the point. The 48-layer water and oil repellent nano coating means rain, spray, dust and fingerprints land on a piece of glass you can wipe or replace, rather than on your lens's front element.
Does it fit lenses from other systems?
Yes. It is a standard screw-in filter, so any lens with a 72mm, 77mm or 86mm front thread will take it. It is named for Hasselblad because the optical standard and the cap clearance were set by the X System.
